This exhibition brings together paintings by a number of artists working in Britain, all of whom explore the subject of landscape and location in their work. As well as exploring what landscape painting has been, what it is now and what it can be, this exhibition will study the importance of the genre as a model or metaphor - examining the way we interpret and understand the environment, and how we place ourselves within it.

All of the artists can be seen to be building on and re-interpreting traditional ideas about landscape painting, challenging and redefining the boundaries of the genre.
